Abstract:

In this paper, the manners of fuzzy set theory are applied to an epidemic model. The different degrees of infectivity that each individual of a population can present without, nevertheless, subdividing the infected class into divisions, deal with an epidemic model, is considered. Because of the chance of transmission is uncertain, the transmission coefficient is considered as a fuzzy set. For epidemiological models, an essential parameter concerned with disease evolution is the basic reproduction value, which gives the number of secondary cases caused by an infected individual introduced into a population. A new definition of the fuzzy basic reproduction number is presented. The model and its solution is analyzed. A control administration of the disease is illustrated.
