Abstract:

Technology has become an indispensable part of today’s world and thisis also true with the field of foreign language instruction. The purposeof this study was to investigate Iranian EFL teachers’ attitude towardthe integration of technology such as Computer- Assisted Learning(CAL), Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL), ComputerAided Instruction (CAI) and information and communicationtechnology (ICT) in EFL classrooms as well as their perception ofpossible barriers toward the use of technology and perceived strategiesto include technology in EFL course. The adopted methodology for thisstudy was primarily descriptive research within qualitative andquantitative realm. A questionnaire was utilized to collect the necessarydata and 153 EFL teachers responded to the questionnaire In order toanalyze the collected data from the questionnaire, the results wereanalyzed through descriptive statistics using latest version of SPSS. Thefindings of the study revealed that Iranian EFL teachers hold a positiveattitude toward integration of technology in EFL instruction and alsothe results showed that respondents perceived computer technology asbeneficial tool to be utilized in EFL course. Moreover, this researchindicated some of the variables that limit integration of technology inIran educational system. Furthermore, strategies which can beincorporated in order to implement technology in EFL course werepointed out
