Abstract:

Objective: One of the big problems in shrimp hatcheries are parasitic infections, world wildly. Therefore, this study was conducted on parasitic infections in hatcheries, which can assist to increase the quantity and quality of shrimp production. Method & Materials: Specimens were collected from the hatcheries of Penaeus indicus in Sistan-o-Baluchestan Province (Iran) during the year of 2005 - 2006. Brood stocks and larvae were surveyed in five hatcheries. They were in the stages of Mysis and PL15, during study. Sampling was done five times, randomly from two cement tanks. The live samples were transferred to Offshore Fisheries Research Lab and inspected under the light microscope via wet-mount. This process was done for observing of the epicommensal protozoa. Also, brood stocks were chosen randomly. Gills and Peleopods were examined as well. Results & Conclusion: In addition, 175 larvae and 47 brood stocks were surveyed in this study. Just in one case, Apostome protozoa in the mysis stage and Gregarine in the brood stock intestine was observed in 2006.
