Abstract:
Recently, the most common cancer in females in Iran and in the most ofdeveloped countries was breast cancer. Also, different studies showed the roleof neurotransmitters in occurrence and progression of cancers and they affectedcells by their various types of receptors. This study was conducted to evaluateof changes in dopamine receptors gene expression in breast cancer patients.Peripheral blood samples were obtained from 30 patients and 30 healthyindividuals. Total mRNA was extracted from peripheral blood cells (PBMC).RT-PCR was performed to confirm the presence of different dopaminereceptors (DRD1-DRD5). At least dopamine receptors gene expression changesin breast cancer patients were evaluated by real time PCR technique. We observed that all dopamine gene receptors (D1-D5) were expressed inPBMCs of healthy and patients samples.Statistical analysis showed significant increasing of DRD1, DRD2, DRD3 andDRD4 of gene expression in breast cancer patients. In conclusion, increasing of dopamine receptors gene expression may be play animportant role as stress factors in progressions of Breast cancer.
