Abstract:
Introduction & Aim: Breast cancer is a multi-factorial disease that exhibits biological heterogeneity in terms of its prognosis and sensitivity to anti-cancer agents. In order to identify markers i.e. miRNA of cell growth and differentiation many studies have and are currently being conducted. As matter of fact that the various breast cancer subtypes exhibit different molecular miRNA signatures, we sought to investigate miRNA with metabolic network to find those miRNA that operate metabolic network functions for thisdiseases. Methods: After downloading and pruning the data we used iPathwayGuide Next-gen Pathway Analysis to search for plausible miRNA candidates. These miRNA were combined with mRNA and metabolic network in FBA scheme. Results: It was turned out that energy-generating metabolic pathways i.e glycolysis, are the target to manymiRNA e.g. miRNA-29 a. Conclusion: Such findings should be verified in the lab work though the computational model was quite relevant.
