Abstract:

Introduction & Aim: Breast cancer is considered to be the most common cancer in women in the world. Iran is one of the countries with a lower incidence of breast cancer and about one-sixth of the Western countries. However, every year about 2,500 Iranian women die from the disease. 6% of the cancer in Iran belongs to breast cancer. The aim of this study was to provide a descriptive report of some factors in patients with breast cancerMethods: This study was conducted on 3801 breast cancer patients whose information is available at the Cancer Research Center. The disease was diagnosed between 1981 and March 2013 and follow up of patients from 1378 to 1394.Results: 31% of patients had university education, 62% had diplomas and less, and 7% were illiterate. 84.9% of the patients had chemotherapy and 3.7% had no chemotherapy. 18% of patients had diabetes and 82% had diabetes. 98.2% of patients had received hormone therapy and 1.8% had no hormone therapy. The survival rate was 93.3% in life and 6.7% in the case of death.Conclusion: In this study, a descriptive report was made of survival status, academic status of patients, having or not having chemotherapy, whether or not diabetes mellitus was diagnosed in patient with breast cancer.
