Abstract:

This work is focused on submerged manipulation in liquid and is analyzed dynamics of the spherical nanoparticlemanipulation based on Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM). In previous investigations, pushing of the nanoparticle using AFM was modeled in air and the dynamic behavior of tip and nanoparticle was investigated. Hence, as a new work the hydrodynamic force is extracted and the new dynamic modeling is proposed for manipulation of submerged samples. The problem is simulated for gold nanoparticle manipulation on a silicon substrate in water and three other liquids. The results of the simulation show that the required time and force for nanoparticle motion on substrate in sliding and rolling have a maximum variation of 17% and 32% in time and 6% and 22% inforces, respectively in comparison with the critical values in air.
