Abstract:

In this study, an efficient method for electrochemical sensing of phenylalanine on the RGO/GC electrode was developed. In the first step, graphite oxide was synthesized by modified Hummer methods and then reduced by chemical method using hydrazine in appropriate solvent. The structure and morphology of resulting products were characterized with field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) and Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy. The electrochemical behavior of the modified electrode was investigated by differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) method. The detection limit (calculated for S/N ratios of 3) is 0.4 μM. The results suggest its promising potential as efficient electrode for sensing of phenylalanine in the real samples such as blood and urine in people with phenylketonuria disease.
