Effects of alumina nano particles on the mechanical properties of mortar

This paper reports on the use of alumina nano particles in the mortar. Samples with 0.28, 0.56, 1.1 weight percent alumina were prepared and the effects of these particles on the mechanical properties of the mortar after 11 days curing in water was investigated. The results showed that adding the alumina nano particles to the mortar increases the compressive strength of the mortar and after reaching its highest point decreases again. The highest value occurs at the 0.28 weight percent of the alumina nano particles
