Form evolution of airport design styles in the twentieth century

Airports are among one of the destinations that every person will go during their lifetime; therefor, as a systematical and spatial factor it fall upon architects to create a perfect standing ground that shows the beauty and power of one nation. Airports lifeline goes back to the first flight but the major activity begins after the end of WWII and since then we can see the development of this functional element; therefore, it is necessary to understand the change of time and style that has happened to the most important flight centers at a global scale. In this study we analyzed various airports from different continents around the world so we can see the architectural evolutions that they have had. In the end we conclude that before 1990 the majority of airports were under the influence of modern and international style but after that a wave of high-tech systems and structures came upon them that effected at a functional and aesthetic level.
