Abstract:

Introduction: Among the plants that modulate the immune system are Euphorbia Myrsinitis, the extracts from this plant having biological and bioactive activities and lead to the improvement of the condition of many diseases.Materials and methods: The studied population includes Swiss albino male rats weighing 25-30 g. The purchased mice will be randomly divided into 3 groups. Group A contains healthy mice that are prescribed only normal saline. (5) B group includes mice that are only administered intraperitoneally (LPS). (10 mice and LPS with a dose of 0.75 mg / animal are prescribed). Group C contains mice that are given Euphorbia Myrsinitis ethanol extract at a dose of 5 mg / animal intraperitoneally for 7 days prior to LPS administration and then LPS have been administered 7 days with high dose intraperitoneally. (10MICE) Then, the levels of TNF-α, IFN-γ, IL-4 cytokines were measured by ELISA kit in serum samples of mice ,2 and 6 hours after LPS administration.Results: The results showed that 2 hours after administration of LPS, IL-4, IL-10 and IFN-γ in the extract treated group were significantly higher than other groups, and within 6 hours after administration of LPS, IL- 4, IL-10 and TNF-α in the extract treated group were significantly higher than other groups.Conclusion: Euphorbia Myrsinitis is likely to be used to treat and prevent septic shock through its role on increasing effective cytokines such as IFN-γ, IL-4, IL-10, which have improving role on inflammatory processes.
