Abstract:

Introduction and Objectives : Dirofilariosis is vector borne parasitic disease which, cases of infection can be seen in both humans and animals. This study aimed to use mapping of human and animal dirofilariosis in Iran by geographical information system.Materials and methods: Data and metadata were used for assessment of findings. All available articles and books were used for mapping of dirofilaria infection and then prevalence or incidence of the disease calculated and data storage, Processed and mapped as a shape file in ArcGIS software version 10.4.Results: The disease is present in areas in the southern tropical climate and northern Mediterranean weather. However, human cases are found in the northwest areas that are susceptible to wildlife and stray dogs. Reported cases in Tehran are due to diagnostic and therapeutic centers. The status of disease in Hormozgan, due to the lack of reports of animal cases, indicates that there is no field research in this area. Conclusion :Dirofilariosis spread in southern and northern our country. Climate change and global warming have probably affected the epidemiological patterns and risk of infection for animals and humans.
