Abstract:
Chrysin (Chr) is a natural flavonoid with a wide range of beneficial effects like antioxidant, cytoprotective and anti-inflammatory properties; the low solubility in water decreases its bioavailability and consequently disrupts the biomedical benefits. The purpose of this study was to investigate the efficiency of encapsulated in PLGA-PEG-PLGA nanoparticles increases Chr solubility and drug tolerance, and decreases the discordant effects of the drug. The PLGA-PEG-PLGA nanoparticles were synthesized and characterized by FTIR. The Chr-loaded PLGA-PEG-PLGA nanoparticles (NPs) were prepared by double emulsion method and the physicochemical parameters of the nanoparticles such as zeta potential, size distribution, and drug encapsulation were characterized. The in vitro drug release study of Chr presented a sustained and controlled release pattern
