Abstract:Metal-organic frameworks (MOF) are class of crystalline porous materials constructed from organic linkers and metal ions/clusters. Todays the application of the Metal-organic framework is growing rapidly for the development of sustainable procedures due to the availability of their active metal sites and their porous structure1. In order to the easy separation and recycling of heterogeneous catalysts, they have particular importance in organic synthesis2. The use of MOFs as catalysts is developing and take a special place among heterogeneous catalysis3.In this study, a Cu(2,5-Dihydroxy-1,4-benzoquinone) as a novel metal-organic framework was synthesized under pressure and characterized by PXRD, EDAX, SEM, and IR. In the EDAX spectrum of a Cu(2,5-Dihydroxy-1,4-benzoquinone), the expected elements present in the structure appear in their specific regions. The SEM image from the surface of the catalyst showed the spherical structure of this compound. The catalytic activities of the Cu(2,5-Dihydroxy-1,4-benzoquinone) were evaluated in the one-pot three-component synthesis of a wide variety of pyranic derivatives.For this purpose, the multicomponent reaction of β-naphthol, aldehyde and malononitrile were performed in the presence of Cu(2,5-Dihydroxy-1,4-benzoquinone) under reflux conditions using EtOH as a solution for a short time and high yield.
