Abstract:
Nowadays energy consumption and environmental pollution are two universal problems in front of human societies. Semiconductor photocatalysis has been immensely studied as a promising strategy for solar energy alteration and solving environmental problems [1-3]. In present study, Ag2O nanoparticles were loaded on the surface of ZnCr-LDHs via an anion-exchange precipitation approach by using privilege of the memory trace feature of the LDH-type materials. The photocatalytic degradation studies on acid black ascertained that the prepared Ag2O/ZnCr-LDH nanocomposite represent an observably increased activity in degradation of organic pollutants under visible light compared with pure Ag2O and ZnCr-LDH. This enhanced photocatalytic activity can be ascribed to the increased surface area, in good order distributing of particles and effective charge carrier transfer and separation in the nanocomposite.
