Abstract:

Multicomponent reactions (MCRs) are one of the most important processes for the preparation of highly functionalized organic compounds in modern synthetic chemistry.MCRs are convergent reactions, in which three or more starting materials react to form a product, where basically all or most of the atoms contribute to the newly formed product. One of these important reactions is three-component synthesis of triarylpyridines [1-3]. Pyridines have attracted considerable attention due to their wide range of biological and pharmacological activities. Pyridines have been found wide applications in various fields such as supramolecular chemistry, pharmacology as antimalarial drug, anaesthetic, anticonvulsant, vasodilator and antiepileptic drugs and in agrochemistry as fungicides, pesticides and herbicides [1,2].In this research, a simple three-component method for the synthesis of 2,4,6-triarylpyridine from acetophenone derivatives, aromatic aldehydes and ammonium acetate in presence of GO. BF3 as heterogeneous and efficient catalyst is studied (Scheme1). GO. BF3 is an efficient and stable catalyst that may easily prepared, easily separated from reaction mixture and could reused under several runs.
