Abstract:
Catalytic epoxidation reactions based on transition metal complexes have played an important role in organic synthesisand chemical industries since these reactions may provide epoxides as intermediates to generate usefulchemicals. Among catalytic epoxidation reactions, those which employ dioxygen as an oxidant have attracted greatattention due to such advantages as having green nature and being inexpensive. Thus, A novel binuclear Mn(II)carboxamide complex based on a orto substituted amidic ligand has been synthesized and characterized by 1H NMR,FT-IR and atomic absorbtion spectroscopy and X-Ray crystallography. The prepared binuclear Mn(II) complex has been used for poxidation of various cyclic and linear alkenes to theircorresponding epoxides in good yield.
