Abstract:
Water pollution due to discharge of colored effluents from dye manufacturing are one of the major environmental concerns in the world today. In this study, first, metal oxide nanoparticles (NPs) was synthesized by precipitation method using Zn(CH3COO)2.2H2O as a precursor to ethylene glycol. Then, the reaction followed by calcination of product reaction at 054oCfor 2h in a furnace. Second, size and morphology of synthetic catalyst was characterized by SEM, XRD and FT-IR techniques. Incorporation of starch-ZnO NPs was facilitated via sonochemistry. The ability of the modified NPs was investigated for dye pollutant removal of aqueous solution. Finally, its thermodynamic reaction was studied using UV-Vis spectroscopy by monitoring of MB bleaching in different conditions of ionic strength and temperature. In this way, enthalpy, entropy and adsorption equilibrium constant was obtained by Vant Hoff’s equation
