Abstract:

Today large number of researches are carried out on concrete properties due to its wide use as an important construction material. Most part of concrete is cement whose cost decrease leads to producing of economical concrete. Naturally using the industrial sweepings such as copper blast furnace slag which have pozzolan properties can make the cement economical. When such materials is used in concrete, in addition to the compressive strength the other properties of it should be studied .Another important properties of concrete is its bending strength which will be examined in this article. Because of variation in the cement of concrete, the study of the other properties of concrete is important. In this research, the copper blast furnace slag milled to mesh325 and in this mesh the maximum diameter of grains is 45 micron and 455 cubic specimens (15*15 in dimensions) and cylindrical ones (15*30 in dimensions) were made. compressive and tensile tests of specimens showed an positive effect in the concrete behavior when copper slag and Taftan pozzolan is added.
