Abstract:

In this work, we have designed a photonic crystal 2D structure with the hexagonal lattice consistent Ge rods in the background SiO2, which can reflect and diffract a wide wavelength rang of sunlight 300 nm – 1200 nm that is a considerable rang of sun spectrum wavelength. Thus, this make an efficiency enhancement of 5.078% for the thin film solar cells based on a: Si. This structure can also be used as the back reflector in different solar cells.
