Abstract:Numerical methods for more complex structures are much more flexible and accurate than the analytical techniques. Amongst the numerical methods, finite difference method for light propagation is one of the most powerful and most effective simulation tools for device simulations. A samplesolution of finite difference beam propagation method simulation of optical structures is considered. The results of propagation of Gaussian pulses in free space are compared with Angular spectrum analysis
