Methods of Measurement and Control of Noise Pollution in Industrial Complexes

Nowadays the noise pollution problem exists in different industries such as power plants, cement factories, steel factories, petrochemical centers and etc. for decreasing and controlling noise pollution in the standard range, it is necessary to measure the noise and pollution noise. In this paper, firstly, the importance of measurement of noise is studied. The next, methods of measuring the noise and its pollution are expressed and then, the methods of decreasing, controlling and eliminating noise pollution will be presented. These methods include two: non-active and active methods. In non-active method, the materials are used to absorb noise. This method is useful in some applications. In active method, a control system including electroacoustic instruments is used to generate special noise with equal amplitude and negative phase corresponding to environmental noise.
