Abstract:

The present study aims to develops a novel structure of a miniaturized, single feed, dual-polarized and Ultra-WideBand microstrip antenna with rectangle-shaped radiating patch with two rectangle-shaped slots which is fed througha fork-shaped microstrip feedline and modified ground plane for use in IOT (Internet of Thing) systems. The groundplane is slotted to achieve needed S-Parameter (<-10dB) in the whole frequency bandwidth.Proposed antenna covers the experimental-bandwidth of 3-14 GHz with measured S-Parameter<-10. Proposedantenna has Omni-directional radiation pattern in low frequencies and semi omnidirectional pattern at highfrequencies as well dual linear polarization. The antenna occupies the compact size of 16 mm * 16 mm ( wholefootprint is 256 mm(2)). The antenna is simulated and optimized with Ansoft HFSS (High Frequency StructureSimulator) and the prototype is constructed on low-cost substrate dielectric material (FR4 with relative permittivity=4.3) with thickness of 1.6 mm and measured. The simulations result of proposed antenna is in good agreement withmeasured parameters.
