Abstract:
Today, one of the biggest problems encountered in large cities is the emissionof greenhouse gases from the use of fossil fuels such as gasoline. The desire ofthe world to use electric vehicles instead of conventional vehicles is apromising solution to reduce greenhouse gases and create energy security. Inorder to supply these vehicles, a series of charging stations (CS) are required.The inappropriate location and size of CS leads to a series of new technicalchallenges, such as voltage deviations and increase in power losses. In thispaper, an optimal planning of CS in the presence of capacitors to maintainvoltage and improve power losses in power distribution networks is proposed.The simulation is performed on a 34-bus radial distribution system. In order tosolve the optimization problem, grasshopper algorithm is used. The resultsshow the effectiveness of optimal planning of CS and CAP on power lossesand voltage profiles in power distribution networks.
