Abstract:
A two-dimensional multi-fluid Eulerian CFD model has been improved by incorporating particle rotation using kinetic theory for rapid granular flow of slightly frictional spheres. Simulation with and without particle rotation were performed to study segregation phenomena in a bidispersed bubbling gas-fluidized bed. In this model an effective restitution coefficient was introduced. It was found that model with particle rotation better predicts the bubble dynamics and bed behavior.
