Abstract:
Polymeric nanofiltration cellulose acetate (CA) membrane was prepared by phase inversion method and effect of anionic surfactant on the membrane characteristics and performance was investigated. The prepared membranes were characterized by several techniques includingscanning electron microscopy (SEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM), contact angle and zetapotential measurements. 3,5-dinitrosalicylic acid (DNSA) was used as pesticide and experiments were carried out at different solution pHs. The obtained results indicate that addition of SDS to CA casting solution results in membranes with considerably thinner skin layer and higher porosity. Moreover, the pure water flux, permeation and rejection of DNSA were improved significantly
