Abstract:
Knowledge on blood physiological indices of sturgeons can help to increase theirpropagation and rearing efficiency in restocking programs. Since there is noinformation on blood indices of young wild sturgeons. Therefore, this research aimedto study differential count of leukocytes in 25 A. persicus and 25 A. stellatus withmean weight of 30.7 ± 7.9 g and 28.2 ± 7.1 g, respectively. Fishes have capturedusing trawl from the Mazandran Province during 2009 – 2012. Differential countresults showed that mean number of lymphocyte, monocyte, neutrophil andeusynoiphil in A. persicus and A. stellatus were 86.7 ± 6.8, 2.8 ± 1.7, 5.6 ± 5.2 and5.1 ± 3.1 percent; and 83.7 ± 6.2, 2.9 ± 1.8, 6 ± 4.2 and 7.1 ± 4.5 percent, respectively. The highest and less abundance belonged to lymphocyte and monocyte, respectively.Blood leukocyte count showed no significant difference between two species(P> 0.05).
