Abstract:
The present study investigated the effect of probiotic bacillus on body composition, feed conversion ratio and specific growth rate of Rainbow trout (Onchorhynchusmykiss) larvae using five blends of probiotic bacillus via supplementation of diet for60 days. Rainbow trout larvae (463±32 mg) were fed the diet supplemented with1×10 6 (treatment A1), 1×10 7 (treatment AR2R) and 1×10 8 (treatment AR3R), bacteria per100 g food and their effects compared with those received control diet containing noprobiotic. Feeding varied from a ratio of 5% to 8% of live mass in breeding period. The probiotic bacillus had significant positive effects on specific growth rate (SGR)(P<0.05). The treatment AR2 Rresulted in significantly better growth, a lower feedconversion ratio (FCR) than the control and treatments AR1R. Also, the levels of carcassdry matter, crude protein and crude lipid significantly increased (P<0.05). Theexperiment indicated that the probiotic bacillus highly increase the feeding efficiencyand the levels of carcass nutrient composition in Onchorhynchus mykiss larvae.
