Abstract:
To investigate the length-weight relationships in Chondrostoma regium, in total, 95specimens were caught using a gill net and cast net with 15-35 mm mesh size andelectrofishing in September and October 2008 in the Dez River (Dezfoul). Totallength and weight of each fish was measured to the nearest 1 mm and 1 g,respectively. The average total length and weight was 234.000 ± 26.112 (SD) mmand 117.989 ± 43.401 (SD) g, respectively. The relationship between total length andweight of all fish was LogW = -2.36 + 2.998, the correlation was 91% and the b valueindicated an isometric growth for this species. The calculated condition factor for thisspecies in the Dez River was 0.69 (range: 0.58-0.79). Due to lack of similar studieson this species no detailed comparison on the condition factor was possible.
