Abstract:
Ston loaches of Nemacheilid family has no economic value but they are important interms of ichthyofauna of e river system. Length-weight relationship is a useful toolto stock assessment in fisheries that can help to predict the weight from lengthmeasurements. Hence this study was conducted to length-weight relationship ofOxynoemacheilus angorae with collecting of 90 specimens from the Qarechay Riverin Markazi Province, during September and October 2013. Specimens were caughtby hand net and cast net with 1 mm mesh size and then fixed into 10% formalin. Totallength and weight range were 4.544-7.469 cm (5.969 ± 2.443 SD) and 0.60-2.83 g(1/578 ± 1.256 SD) respectively. The relation between length and total weight wascalculated as W=0.000006L 3/0458 (r2 =0.958). The b value was higher than theexpected value (b=3) indicating a positive allometric growth pattern.
