Abstract:

The subject of graphic thinking is largely based on the study of creativity in psychology, and in particular has been expanded in the research of Rudolf Arnheim in art psychology. Drawing tools, in terms of chain linking the creative design process for architects has a special place in architectural and form design. Visual thinking in the design process of architecture, due to the dependence on drawing tools such as handwriting, diagrams and images, has many common aspects to what Robert McCemm calls graphic thinking. In this research, the purpose of which is to investigate the effect of free graphic thinking on form creative discoveries, using descriptiveanalytical method and we have studied the subject and based on the survey method, questionnaires regarding the variables of the research as well as in the form of the spectrum Likert In thesample of 45 students from the architecture of the University of Science and Technology who have been selected in a crosssectional manner from the statistical community of the university students which have been evaluated. The results indicate that free graphic tools are distinct in terms of the physical design process and usage with software and other architectural expression techniques and from the very early stages of the formation of mental ideas which can enhance the creative minds of the architect act correctly and promote the formation of forms based on theoretical thinking.
