Abstract:

One of the parameters causing the deterioration and failure of reinforced concrete (RC) structures is the corrosion of rebar which make a lot of damages in both public and industrial sections. In view of what was discussed, there is no surprise why experts in corrosion, especially corrosion of concrete, are always trying to understand this phenomenon by studying its mechanism and by monitoring it in concrete structures. To accomplish the following task different approaches of analyzing, monitoring, and measuring corrosion in concrete is presented. Among these approaches, the ones that are Nondestructive, inexpensive, easy, and fast are always on demand. As the tested sample is used in the construction and it is of importance that there is no damage done to the construction, Nondestructive test (NDT) methods are in the center of attention and increasing number of researchers are conducting studies on them. It is also of great importance that test can be repeated so that we can achieve a standard for a Nondestructive method.
