Abstract:
This paper addresses recent advance in electrochemical pretreatment of Carbon-Nanotubes (CNT) based Nanobiosensors. CNT which has been produced by different processes, i.e. arc-discharge and chemical vapor deposition (CVD), subjected to the electrochemical activation. In this study different kind of carbon nanotubes have been compared to each other. The results herein offer a better understanding of the electrochemical reactivity of CNT. They showed a noticeable influence of the CNT characteristics on the performance of the nanobiosensor. In particular, the Arc discharge multi walled CNT with higher purification degree had the best outcome on the electrochemical behavior of glassy carbon electrode among the other samples. The generic application of CNT and the effect of its structure and purity as a nano(bio)sensor for electrochemical response of uric acid is strongly discussed
