Abstract:

OBJECTIVE: To calculate the depth of the shading’s is known as a part of static cooling in the climatic design process of architecture and considering the position of windows, sometimes it can affect the pre-calculated architectural forms. This paper aims to examine the impact of the accuracy of the calculations on the depth of the shading’s. METHOD: In the process of hypothesis testing using the numerical solution of a horizontalshading on the southern side of Orthopedic Hospital in a cold climate, the importance of accuracy in calculating the depth of the shading’s will be examined, and the positive ornegative climatic effects will be stated. FINDINGS: Shading has been a basic principle in the designing method of great architects.In the calculation of the shading’s depth, given the step by step calculations, the more accurate the calculations, the more accurate the calculation of the shading’s depth would be. In the calculations, if the calculations’ accuracy is less than three decimal places, the value of theobtained depth of the shading would surprisingly be inaccurate up to 5 times, and consequently it may cause disruption in the static cooling process of the climatic designprocess. CONCLUSION: The accuracy of the calculations is seen as an integral part of engineeringexcellence. Sometimes, negligence of the calculations’ logic has adverse effects on final results. However, in a superficial view, it might be regarded ineffective or of little importance. Therefore, calculations must be carefully controlled in order that we may benefit operationalefficiency in the engineering, and avoid the adverse effects.
