Imam Khomeini Port Water Quality Analysis Using Regional Physical & Chemical Characteristics

Changes in the physical & chemical characteristics are among the most important pollution indexes in marine ecosystems, which can influence the biology, physiology and ecology of themarine species living therein. Measuring the qualitative variables of water (temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen and PH) can provide an initial insight into the matter in each station. With the highest level of loading and discharge of cargo among the Iranian ports, the ImamKhomeini Port is annually visited by hundreds of ocean-going vessels, which has turned the port into an area with heavy maritime traffic. During this study, key water characteristics were analyzed at different berths in different months. All the samplings and parameter analyses were conducted in accordance with methods provided by ROPME, 1999 and Clesseri, 1989.
