Abstract:
According to the research conducted in the world and especially in Iran, the results show, deaths and injuries occurred in the construction industry compared to other industries are higher and the role of Building Information Modeling (BIM) in reducing casualties and improve project's safety in the country, before the construction by the simulation all stages of construction can be very effective. As a result, Building Information Modeling became widely used by most practitioners in their specialist areas. Building Information Modeling technology has the potential to be used in safety planning procedures particularly those related to tasks on construction sites. 4D-Building information Modeling was recognized as a central technology for construction site safety related planning activities, connecting the safety viewpoint more closely to construction planning, enabling visualization of safety arrangements in construction projects at different moments of time, and providing more illustrative site plans for communication. As a starting point it was considered that Building Information Modeling technologies could present a new way to solve still existing site safety problems. This article introduces readers to the concept of Building Information Modeling, its uses and benefits, particularly with respect to construction safety
