Abstract:

In order to evaluate the stability and determine the highest yielding varieties, 11 different genotypes of wheat were studied in this research. The experiment was conducted in arandomized complete block design with three replication in three locations in Iran (Kerman, Sirjan, Neyriz) during growing season (2001-2002, 2002-2003, 2005-2006 and 2010-2011). Totally eight different experiment were performed in terms of grain yield in different environments. Combined analysis of variance showed that there were significant different between genotypes, environments and genotype × environment interaction. Inorder to assess the interaction effects and subsequently evaluate the yield stability, different statistical method such as Environment variance (Si2), Environmental coefficient of variation(CVi), Wrick ecovalance (Wi 2) and Shukla stability variance (σ2 i). The obtained results through all these methods were nearly analogous. According to CVi statistic M45 line with lowest value was known as stable genotype. (St/b) × (Cr/b)-4 waspossessed lowest Wi 2 (18.27), (2.52) and Si 2 (1.39) and was introduced as a stable genotype. Where the highest values of criteria was related to 4115 and 4116 lines andshowed their unstable performance. Also cluster analysis based on both criteria ecovalance and stability variance, showed the same Category. Based on these parameters and average performance 4108 and M45 with the relatively low interaction of genotypeand environment and above average performance were considered best genotypes for breeding program and subsequent recommendations to farmers. Triticale showed the most stable and unstable genotype which can be mentioned there is a high variation in this regards in triticale, which tritipyrum showed averaged stable performance.
