Abstract:

In the last decade, composite materials have been used widely in the different fields of the engineering. From the 1970’s onwards, polymer reinforced composite materials became increasingly popular, especially for use in the aerospace and defense industry. This interest was initiated by the demand for an extremely lightweight material, which would also be extremely resistant to most environmental factors and exhibit excellent strength and stiffness characteristics. These unique features also draw lot of interests among civil engineers and structural industries to use them for repair and rehabilitation of RC elements. Knowledge about planning, designing, executing of Externally Bonded FRP Systems for Strengthening Concrete Structures and behavior of the composite materials gained from worldwide experimental research and analytical work. In this paper we focused specifically on Environmental effects in RC elements strengthening with Externally Bonded Fiber Reinforced Polymer(FRP)Systems to present specificguidance, graphs and instructions that can be utilized by engineers in different projects and environmental conditions
