Abstract:
In order to assess the groundwater quality in Shahrood plain, 19 groundwater samples have been analyzed for major cations and anions. Most of samples collected from southern parts of the plain are contaminated indicated by high concentration of EC, TDS, Na and Cl. Lithologic units such as Marl and gypsum are considered as the cause. Major hydrochemical facies were identified using Piper trilinear diagram. Majority of the water samples have been assessed as suitable for domestic and irrigation purposes.
