Abstract:

In this paper, an efficient methodology is proposed to investigate the impact of Degree of Hybridization (DOH) and control parameters of Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs) on theirperformance, emissions and fuel economy. This study can be very helpful especially on optimal selection of DOH, which results inimproved performance, maximum levels of fuel economy and minimum emissions. The procedure is very simple and at thesame time very efficient. A small-size parallel passenger hybridcar has been selected as the test vehicle in the simulations and the ADVISOR software has been used as the simulation tool. Simulation results clearly confirm the validity of proposed methodology and theoretical concepts.
