A CASE STUDY ABOUT APPLYING VALUE METHODOLOGY IN FEASIBILITY STUDY PHASE

Value methodology now a day is generally used to be applied in construction projects after a preliminary scheme of “Basic Design” is achieved. This usual application of VM is popularly accepted due to the approved benefits. However, when the structure of the plan formed any change proposal has just local and limited effects. Solving this shortcoming, in this paper, it is intended to introduce a step-bystep procedure for using VM in “Feasibility & Conceptual Study” phase of different projects. For this purpose, a job plan is devised. This plan, itself is able to demonstrate its advantages, nevertheless, a succeeded case study is also presented. This case study is the Feasibility & Conceptual Study of the distributed control/protection system of a water transmission line. The results of this case study show the advantages of proposed VM rocedure.
