The application profile contains 63 elements including 22mandatory elements and 41 optional elements for describing different kinds of content objects. Among these 63 elements,53 elements have been selected from the UNIMARC format as the basic standard,8 elements have been extracted from the Dublin Core Metadata Initiative (DCMI),and2 elements have been determined from the Metadata Object Description Schema (MODS).
