Abstract:
In this research, biocompatible in-situ hydrogel polyurethane nanocomposites of poly(ethylene glycol)/poly(ε-caprolactone) (PEG/PCL), chemically cross-linked by cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) and hydroxyl terminated PCL-grafted cellulose nanocrystal, were synthesized. Structural analysis was performed; phase and morphological behavior were analyzed. The results showed that CNCs acted as a phase controller of the two homopolymers. In addition, cell viability was analyzed, which indicated that the prepared hydrogel polyurethane nanocomposites possess good cytocompatibility for tissue engineering applications.
