In this paper, free vibration of elevated water tanks with different height of water versus radius of container (h/R ration) has been compared. For this purpose, several models of cylindrical elevatedconcrete water tanks with central shaft have been considered in two conditions. Firstly, volume ofexistent water has been supposed to be constant and period of structures has been compared withvarious h/R ratios. Secondly, h/R ratio has been changed for different level of water surfaces. Thestructure is modeled by Finite Element Method using powerful application of ANSYS. Both theconvection and impulsive vibration are considered with precise effect of fluid-structure interaction. Results illustrate that the h/R ratio, weight and reservoir dimensions has major effect on neutral periods of structure but influence of h/R ratio is more important
