Abstract:
This study is concerned with a feedback linearization approach for vibration attenuation of cantilever pipes conveying fluid with piezoelectric actuators. A nonlinear control system isformulated based on the nonlinear dynamic equations of cantilever pipes conveying fluid with piezoelectric. Employing the Galerkin's technique, discretization of nonlinear partial differentialequations of motion is performed. The control input is given by the electric fieldsneeded to drive the piezoelectric actuators, which is modelled by linear piezoelectric constitutive relations. The nonlinear output of the system is taken as a feedback and used to turn itinto an equivalent controllable linear system in new coordinates. This process is made possibleby formulating nonlinear feedback control laws which annul the nonlinear dynamics. By performing the pole placement method, the states of the feedback linearized model became locally asymptotically stable at a given equilibrium. Eventually, simulation results are presented for feedback linearization of a pipe conveying fluid with different fluid velocities and mass ratios considering the first mode's amplitude as the output
