Abstract:

In this paper, effects of in-plane loads on the vibration of transversely isotropic annular sector plate have been studied. Based on third-order shear deformation plate theory, the governingcoupled partial differential equations have been analytically solved. By doing some mathematical manipulations, these equations are converted to decoupled differential equations.Based on Levy’s solution, the radial edges are assumed to be simply supported and differentboundary conditions are considered for circular edges. Therefore, nine different boundary conditions are considered here. At first, stability equations have been analytically solved andthe critical buckling loads obtained. Then, the natural frequency has been extracted from thegoverning equations of motion subjected to in-plane loads. The results show that the in-plane loads affect significantly natural frequency of transversely-isotropic annular sector plate. Furthermore, these results are highly dependent to boundary conditions. By considering severalload ratios, the natural frequencies have been evaluated. It is observed that the natural frequency of annular sector plate vanishes when the applying load equals to the critical buckling load. In most boundary conditions, increasing the load ratios causes to decrease the natural frequency
