Abstract:

Pendulum vibration absorber with nonlinear behavior is investigated in this paper to control resonance peak of linear primary system with horizontal vibrations subjected to forced and motion excitations. We use perturbation methods to approximate nonlinear differential equations, then results are solved numerically. Stability of steady-state solutions are defined by eigenvalues of Jacobi matrix, which obtained from linearizing state equations. Optimum damping and frequency ratios are derived by minimizing the maximum steady state response of primary system with numerical calculations. Accuracy of final results compare with ODE initial value problem method.
