Abstract:

In this paper, bistable composite laminate plates are modeled based on Von Karman s nonlinear Classical Laminate Plate Theory. The nonlinear equation of motion is derived by Lagrange-Euler equation using the assumed mode solving method. The natural frequencies of the com-posite plate are validated in different orientations and layouts. Then, the effects of the number of layers and their orientation on the buckling point are investigated. Finally, the effects of different conditions on bistability and post-buckling have also been studied.
