Abstract:LT codes are the initial class of practical fountain codes which are near-optimal error correcting codes. Similar to some other fountain codes, LT codes depend on sparse bipartite graphs to deal with the overhead for encoding and decoding process. The obvious feature of LT codes is in employing a particularly simple algorithm based on XOR operation to encode and decode the data. This paper provides a simple approach to the operation of LT Codes for two well-known degree distributions, i.e. Robust and Ideal soliton distribution
