Abstract:
This manuscript investigates optimized speed profile oftrain under different conditions including curves, gradientsand speed limits based on the longitudinal dynamic of thetrain. The longitudinal dynamic is employed to derive thegoverning equations and in order to achieve a globaloptimality on energy saving, an integrated energy-efficienttimetable, and speed profile optimization model. Then theproblem is solved and optimized by genetic algorithm andappropriated speed profile of train is generated whereby thegiven journey must be completed on the desired time. Theproblem is implemented for the south to north line ofTehran metro. Finally, the result obtained from simulationhave been compared with actual operation data of Tehranmetro Line 1. Results obtained shows that genetic algorithmcan reduce energy consumption around 9.3% in desiredtime. This simulation can help to attain required drivingperformance by driving the train with the respective speedprofile.
